King Crimson is one of those bands that doesn´t need introduction. With more than 40 years creating music and countless albums, this is the band that has been able to achieve the succes and the respect of all kind of musicians and fans of metal, rock, jazz, etc. All of this leading by its brain, Mr.Robert Fripp, the perfect experimenter. Because this is of what this album goes, of experimentation and evolution in music. Here there are no boundaries nor limits, just what Mr.Fripp is capable to imagine. This is not an easy listening album, King Crimson never was. This is just another step forward in its music. A little-known gem inside its discography. Enjoy these geniuses!

Mark Lanegan - Blues Funeral (2012)

01. The Gravedigger’s Song
02. Bleeding Muddy Water
03. Gray Goes Black
04. St Louis Elegy
05. Riot In My House
06. Ode To Sad Disco
07. Phantasmagoria Blues
08. Quiver Syndrome
09. Harborview Hospital
10. Leviathan
11. Deep Black Vanishing Train
12. Tiny Grain Of Truth

Yeah! One of the most anticipated albums for this 2012 is already here. And I have to say that at first listening it sounds a little bit..."dark wave"? Listening songs as "ode to sad disco", "harborview hospital" or "gray goes black" it looks like if you were listening Peter Murphy, or bands as Trembling Blue Stars. This is not bad, because the voice of mr.Lanegan still being here. His immense voice and highlights as "st louis elegy", "phantasmagoria blues" or "deep black vanishing train" make this album, once again, a jewel, and surely, from now on, one of the best albums of this year. I let you proudly with Mark Lanegan and his band.

Yamantaka//Sonic Titan - YT//ST (2011)

1.- Racoon Song 1:10
2.- Queens 3:50
3.- Oak Of Guernica 2:44
4.- Reverse Crystal/Murder Of A Spider 6:41
5.- Hoshi Neko 4:43
6.- A Star Over Pureland 7:00
7.- Crystal Fortress To The Sea Of Trees 5:03

Delicious piece of psychedellic weirdness. These guys of  Montreal with an asian roots, don´t play the "typical" psychedelia, here there is much more. From the ritualistic rock/doom sound of Jex Thoth that wrap all the album until the sludge of "A Star Over Pureland", and even some pop sonorities like in "Hoshi Neko", makes a really interesting album. The hypnotic female vocals really helps to get into their music. Highly recommended.

Let´s gonna try with something different. The eclectic guitarist Marc Ribot, in one of his uncountable works and collaborations, recorded this album with The Prosthetic Cubans. A really enjoyable record of jazz/rock full of latin rythms and a brilliant guitar work. I hope you like it, despite it is not the usual stuff that you can find here.

Grinderman - Grinderman 2 (2010)

01 - Mickey Mouse And The Goodbye Man
02 - Worm Tamer
03 - Heathen Child
04 - When My Baby Comes
05 - What I Know
06 - Evil

There are people who do what they do is good. This is the case of Nick Cave. Second album with Grinderman, and a second chance to listen  this gentleman perfoming the songs with his habitual viscerality and savoir-faire. Highlights "evil" and "palaces of montezuma". Not for beginners.

Soulsavers-Broken (2009)

1. The Seventh Proof (instrumental)
2. Death Bells (Mark Lanegan & Gibby Haynes)
3. Unbalanced Pieces (Mark lanegan & Mike Patton)
4. You Will Miss Me When I Burn (Mark Lanegan & Red Ghost)
5. Some Misunderstanding  (Mark lanegan)
6. All the Way Down (Mark Lanegan)
7. Shadows Fall (Mark Lanegan & Ritchie Hawley)
8. Can’t Catch the Train (Mark Lanegan)
9. Pharaoh’s Chariot (Mark Lanegan & Jason Pierce)
10. Praying Ground (Red Ghost)
11. Rolling Sky (Mark Lanegan & Red Ghost)
12. Wise Blood (instrumental)
13. By My Side (Red Ghost)

Do you know when you listen an album, and doesn´t mean much at first time, then it get lost and keep forgotten for a while? Then a while after you recover and listen again the album and everything changes. And what a change! This is pure magic. Robert Machin and Ian Glover, the brains of the creature, are surrounded by an impressive collection of collaborators: Mike Patton (Faith No More), Will Oldham (Palace Brothers), Jason Pierce (Spiritualized), Righard Hawley and Gibby haynes (Butthole Surfers), Rosa Agostino (a.k.a Red Ghost), and of course Mark Lanegan, the voice who makes that album becomes as brilliant. The whole record is sublime, but it´s worth to point some of the highlights: All the way down, You will miss me when I burn, Some misunderstanding, Shadows fall... Once again, music for the soul.

Isobel Campbell&Mark Lanegan-Hawk (2010)

01- We Die and See Beauty Reign
02- You Won't Let Me Down Again
03- Snake Song
04- Come Undone
05- No Place to Fall
06- Get Behind Me
07- Time of the Season
08- Hawk
09- Sunrise
10- To Hell and Back Again
11- Cool Water
12- Eyes of Green
13- Lately

Mark Lanegan (or The Voice) goes on with the third album  together with Isobel Campbell. Following the steps of their past works, the duo combines the powerful and deep voice of Lanegan with the most sweet and smooth voice of Campbell, besides some collaborations like Willy Mason. Of course it is not the best project, and certainly nor the best Lanegan´s album but still remains a good choice. Also we can find a couple of covers of  Townes Van Zandt, "Snake Song" and "No Place To Fall".
